Strategic Training Partnership | Society for Experimental Biology

  • Ongoing partnership
  • Annual online workshops focused on skill building for early career researchers.
  • Reach: 20-70 researchers per training.

Sessions have included: Effective Scientific Posters (designing clear, engaging conference posters), Clear, Confident Conference Presentations, Using Storytelling & Narrative Technique in Science Communication, and Personal Branding, Pitching, & Presence.  Delivered online since 2020, supporting researchers globally with practical research communication skills and confidence-building.

The ongoing partnership helps normalise reflective communication practice as part of early-career researcher development, and allows researchers to develop core communication skills that support clearer conference presentations, posters, and professional presence.

SciComm Success works with European climate projects and research initiatives, to help scientists and researchers learning storytelling and narrative skills to share complex research.

Storytelling for Climate Communication | ECORYS & European Climate Pact

Designed a one-hour, high-impact webinar on how to use storytelling and stories for climate communication that invites thought and action. Facilitated an online webinar with over 1200 registrations (+-800 live participants in the actual webinar), switching roles between facilitating and moderating session contributors, introducing the European Climate Pact, and delivering a short session on storytelling.

Participants gained practical narrative tools to communicate climate research in ways that invite understanding, reflection, and engagement.

Storytelling for Impact | European Green Deal Projects

Two online training sessions for 73 EU-funded climate research projects, helping researchers communicate goals and results to non-expert audiences using practical narrative techniques. The first workshop focused on awareness, the second on application, using real examples submitted by project partners.

Researchers developed practical storytelling skills to communicate project goals and results more clearly to non-specialist audiences.

The training directly supported follow-on storytelling initiatives within partner organisations, extending impact beyond the sessions.
