Success Stories
Real results from working with universities, research institutions, industry, and other science-driven organisations across Europe
From intensive programmes and skills workshops, to long-form training in-person and online, to strategic facilitation and capacity building, our goal is always to help research teams and organisations communicate more effectively. The projects below will give you an idea of the type of work we’ve done in the past, and how we might be able to help you in the future.

Featured projects and programmes

SciComm Impact Week | Aurora Universities Network
- 19 doctoral candidates and MA students
- 5 universities
- 12 countries
Week-long immersive programme helping researchers distil their research into 3-minute presentations for non-expert audiences, culminating in a public 3MT-style showcase.
The programme built a cross-institutional cohort of early-career researchers able to distil complex research into clear, engaging short talks.

Scientific Slide Design | Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft
- 49 researchers
- 20+ institutes
- Life sciences focus
Interactive 2-hour skills session covering visual design basics and slide design best practices, with opportunities for critique and application.
Researchers developed a shared visual language and design awareness that they could immediately apply to build clearer, more audience-friendly slides, improving the effectiveness of presentations across institutes.

Clear, Confident Scientific & Technical Presentations | CERN
- Ongoing programmes
- 10-20 participants per programme
- Multiple departments
Scientific and technical presentation skills training for this large-scale research infrastructure. Multi-session presentation skills programmes (both intensive 1-day sessions and 2-day programmes in 4-parts) combining online and on-site delivery, focusing on effective scientific communication and data presentation for peers, as well as interdisciplinary and non-specialist contexts. These supported researchers in communicating data and results with greater clarity, confidence, and strategic intent across departments. Delivered multiple times since 2024.

Strategic Facilitation Partnership | UN University
- Multiple engagements over several years
- International reach
Including multiple multi-day presentation skills workshops for early-career researchers, leadership retreat facilitation, one-to-one coaching for a Dragons Den-style pitching event, horizon scanning workshops, problem-solving workshops, and large-scale online project kick-off (40+ participants).
The partnership supported researchers and teams in aligning around shared goals, improving communication, and making progress on complex strategic questions.

Strategic Training Partnership | Society for Experimental Biology
- Ongoing partnership
- Annual online workshops focused on skill building for early career researchers.
- Reach: 20-70 researchers per training.
Sessions have included: Effective Scientific Posters (designing clear, engaging conference posters), Clear, Confident Conference Presentations, Using Storytelling & Narrative Technique in Science Communication, and Personal Branding, Pitching, & Presence. Delivered online since 2020, supporting researchers globally with practical research communication skills and confidence-building.
The ongoing partnership helps normalise reflective communication practice as part of early-career researcher development, and allows researchers to develop core communication skills that support clearer conference presentations, posters, and professional presence.

Storytelling for Climate Communication | ECORYS & European Climate Pact
Designed a one-hour, high-impact webinar on how to use storytelling and stories for climate communication that invites thought and action. Facilitated an online webinar with over 1200 registrations (+-800 live participants in the actual webinar), switching roles between facilitating and moderating session contributors, introducing the European Climate Pact, and delivering a short session on storytelling.
Participants gained practical narrative tools to communicate climate research in ways that invite understanding, reflection, and engagement.

Strategic Communication Planning | EU-Openscreen (ERIC)
Five-part online workshop helping multi-institutional consortium develop clear communication strategies, align on messages, and build actionable plans for stakeholder engagement. Tailored to the specific needs of the ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), with interactive team-building and skill-sharing activities, custom-designed interactive whiteboard spaces, and daily reporting.
Provided a flexible approach to session design, adjusting as needed in session, and refining future workshops based on outcomes from previous days.
The consortium developed clearer shared messages, aligned communication priorities, and actionable plans for stakeholder engagement.

Presenting Technical Content to Diverse Audiences | Prysmian
Two-day programme for 8 R&D team members with engineering backgrounds, focusing on tailoring and presenting complex technical content for audiences with varying expertise, language levels, and commercial contexts.
Participants gained confidence presenting complex engineering topics clearly in high-stakes, interdisciplinary settings.

Storytelling for Impact | European Green Deal Projects
Two online training sessions for 73 EU-funded climate research projects, helping researchers communicate goals and results to non-expert audiences using practical narrative techniques. The first workshop focused on awareness, the second on application, using real examples submitted by project partners.
Researchers developed practical storytelling skills to communicate project goals and results more clearly to non-specialist audiences.
The training directly supported follow-on storytelling initiatives within partner organisations, extending impact beyond the sessions.

Strong Doctoral Defences | CIRAD
Multi-session online training for doctoral candidates in agricultural sciences across sub-Saharan Africa (primarily Zimbabwe). Researchers built confidence and structure in presenting their research clearly and persuasively during defence situations.

Personal Branding & Online Presence for Women in STEM | Kiel University
Half-day online workshop helping female early-career researchers in STEM to develop greater clarity around their professional identity and how to present their work intentionally online and offline.

“Yes, And…” Communicating in Uncertainty with Improv | Saarland University
Full-day experiential workshop using improvisation techniques to build communication confidence for faculty and staff navigating unpredictable, high-pressure situations. The workshop strengthened listening, collaboration, and presence skills transferable to teaching, leadership, and public engagement.

Multiple Social Media Skills Sessions | Boston University
90-minute webinars for 100+ researchers exploring social media landscape and strategies for research promotion, and separately, on how to use Instagram effectively as a research communication tool. Equipped cross-disciplinary researchers with tools to build online presence efficiently. We also provided one-to-one coaching consultations to researchers on request, to focus on their specific needs and disciplinary contexts.
Participants left with practical strategies to build an online presence without adding unnecessary workload or pressure.

Industry R&D Communication Training | Pharma & Biotech
We’ve also supported research teams in pharmaceutical and biotech organisations including:
- Genentech (helping to improve visual communication and poster skills)
- Cancer Denmark (five-part leadership communication focusing on getting better at difficult conversations and feedback)
- Sanford Burnham Prebys (month-long strategic social media workshop to define goals, create a strategy, and end in implementation)
- SGS (two-day presentation skills training to improve cross-departmental presenting)
- LSHTM (social media mentoring, resulting in the launch of a new LinkedIn page and campaign)
Research teams strengthened their ability to communicate clearly across disciplinary, organisational, and stakeholder boundaries.
